Welcome to Kempenfeldt Lodge
Fraternal greetings to all
brethren of the craft and welcome to all others who may be viewing
our site out of interest in freemasonry.
Kempenfeldt Lodge is
located in
Barrie
Ontario,
Canada, which sits on the shores of beautiful Kempenfelt
Bay,
which is believed to have been named after
Rear Admiral
Richard Kempenfeldt
(1718
– 29 August 1782). We meet on the 1st Tuesday at 7:30
PM.
If you live in or near the City of Barrie, you may have noticed
that there are two spellings for he word “Kempenfeldt”, that of
“Kempenfeldt” and that of “Kempenfelt”. The Lodge uses the one
with the letter “d” in it. Thus, we are not “Kempenfelt Lodge”,
but rather “Kempenfeldt Lodge.”
As all Masons will already
know, the Lodge helps to “make good men better”.
However, it also helps
non-Masons as well. For example, the Lodge involves itself yearly
in projects that help out the local communities, as well providing
student bursaries at
Georgian
College.
The Lodge welcomes
interaction with the public, and questions are most welcome.
Perhaps you reached this
website because you have an interest in becoming a freemason.

Freemasonry is a serious
topic or both Masonic and Academic study. The Kempenfeldt Lodge
website, as one of the Masonic Lodges with a website serving the
Barrie area, seeks to supplement, (but not to be a substitute for)
the information provided by the Grand Lodge website, and the
Georgian South District website. This website is a collaborative
effort. As with all websites, it will forever be a ‘work in
progress’. It will continue to grow and improve over time. Any
Brother with a serious interest in assisting in improving the
content of this website (or assisting the Historian in recording
our History) should contact the Master. Suggestions for
constructive amendments to this website should be detailed in
nature, positive in tone, complete with the suggested replacement
texts, and be e-mailed directly to the
Master of the Lodge for consideration. If
approved, the Master will pass them to the Webmaster for
implementation. Alternately, any Brother is welcome to make a
motion related to the website, at any Board of General Purposes
meeting, or any Regular Meeting.
